The ICFAI University Raipur observed 72nd Republic day at its Kumhari located Campus. Republic Day is a remarkable day in the history of India as the day when finally the Constitution of India came into effect on January 26, 1950.
Mr. S.N. Abidi, CGM, Bhilai Steel Plant, Bhilai was the chief guest on the occasion. Flag hoisting followed by the National Anthem was done on the front lawn of the Academic building by the chief guest along with Dr. Ravi Kiran, Registrar, IUR. All the faculty members and staff were present with a feeling of patriotism and dedication.
Dr. GS Narsing Rao, Vice Chancellor (I/c), interacted virtually with all the staff members and students (joined virtually) at the University campus. He extended his warm wishes on the occasion and said that it was this day when the country’s transformation towards becoming independent had begun. It has been 72 years since India became Republic and it is a moment of pride that our country has made a mark on the global map in almost all streams of popularity. Known for its culture, India has excelled in technological and economical aspects as well.
Shri Abidi interacted with the students and extended his warm wishes to everyone. Faculty Members of various departments took part in reciting poems, delivering speech, and patriotic song singing. It radiated a good vibes among all the attendees of the occasion.
Prof. Debendra Shadangi, Head-Faculty of commerce gave a speech. He highlighted the importance of the Constitution and its unique features such as Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic and Republic enshrined in the preamble of the constitution.
The program ended with the message to create a great nation through collective efforts from all individuals by Dr. Ravikiran.
Snacks were distributed among all the guests, and staff members.
