Under the HIV AIDS Control and Prevention Act 207, a state-level one-day
workshop of nominated nodal officers/grievance officers of various higher
education institutions of the state under Chhattisgarh State Higher Education
Department was organized on January 20, 2023, in Raipur. In which Dr. Animesh
Kumar Sharma, Nodal Officer from ICFAI University Raipur was present. In
the training program, the Project Director of the State AIDS Control Committee, Dr.
Khemraj Sonwani gave information related to AIDS to the complaint officers
present. He told about the services of the government available to the people living
with HIV in the society to lead a normal life. In the training, it was told that in case
of complaints related to discrimination against HIV AIDS, the responsibility of the
complaint officer of the institute, how complaint registration, redressal and
reporting can be done. It was also told that the record of the complaint received by
the Grievance Officer and the record of the action taken is to be maintained.
Redressal is to be given to the complaint officer in seven days and the decision of
health related complaint is to be given in 24 hours.
